Podi, spiced and roasted fresh raw banana slice, is a tasty and spicy snack especially for the monsoon evenings. Fresh raw banana is sliced lengthwise, spice and salt mix is sprinkled on the sides of the slice and roasted on a tawa with little or no oil.
This simple and unique podi, when roasted on a low to medium heat, is crispy from outside and soft from inside and are enjoyed best when they are hot.

Step by step guide
1. Wash 2 fresh raw bananas.
2. Peel off the skin.
3. Chop them to medium thick slices.
4. Take 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and crush them to powder.
5. Take the cumin seeds powder, red chilli powder, and salt in a plate or bowl.
6. Mix them well.
7. Take a banana slice and spread the powder on both the sides.
8. Spread the powder on all the banana slices.
Make sure to spread the spice powder on both sides of the slices.
9. Heat a tawa or pan on a low to medium heat. Place the spiced banana slices on the tawa.
10. Put couple of oil drops on each of the banana slices. Let them get roasted for 3 to 5 minutes depending on the flame intensity.
11. Turn over the banana slices and roast the other side of banana slices for 3 to 5 minutes.
12. Remove and serve hot.
Make sure banana slices are roasted well on both the sides.
You can skip oil and dry roast spiced banana slices.
